For those of you who don’t know it’s Robert Burns night tonight and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than with a glass o’ whisky.
Burns, or should I say the Bard of Ayrshire, was born in Alloway, a short drive away from Glasgow where our Auchentoshan distillery is based. With its triple distillation it is the only Scotch distiller to use this technique. A difference we think Burns would celebrate – and a perfect gateway Scotch for anyone new to a wee dram of gold.
For all ‘ye Scots, wha wish auld Scotland well!’ we would also recommend something which gains its flavour from the land itself, Laphroaig. Laphroaig is synonymous with the isle of Islay, famed for its peaty smoke, and not for the faint hearted.
So we know it’s dry January but who needs an excuse, and you can’t serve your neeps and tatties without it!
